User agreement and responsibilities

PNI responsibilities

In a typical collaborative project, PNI takes care of wipe tests for experiments and general laboratory consumables.

  • Autoradiography: ex vivo experiment support, protocol design, ³H-standard, cassettes and film.
  • In vivo imaging: animal housing coordination, imaging preparation and image acquisition.
  • Cryostat: OCT gel and glass slides.
  • Liquid scintillation counting: tubes and liquid scintillation fluid.
  • Data analysis involvement defined case by case.

Collaboration partner responsibilities

The collaboration partner normally covers project-specific scientific and biological aspects behind the study.

  • Tissue samples, material for ex vivo evaluation, disease models and animal treatments.
  • Design, purchase or delivery of radiotracers.
  • Funding for the studies.
  • Valid animal licence from the Canton of Bern for in vivo studies.
  • Animal housing costs discussed with and charged by the Experimental Animal Center.

Additional support: If necessary, PNI may help contact SWAN for radiotracer production or assist with grant-proposal text covering the proposed imaging studies.

Certification note: Do-it-yourself access requires appropriate certification for radioisotope handling where relevant. LKT1 certification is required for handling rodents.
